Something I put together while off sick from work.
THIS GAME STILL SICKENS ME TO THIS DAY, ND GOT ROBBED IN THIS CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been watching and attending USC football for over 50 years and I am a proud USC alumni. I was at this game. The 1st and only time I’ve been to Notre Dame. It was the most epic football game I’ve ever seen. Fight On! ✌🏼🤨
3:12:19 nd honk announcer screaming like a teenaged girl: "notre dame has won!" That didn't age well. lol
3:08:25 Leinart shrugs like he and some buddies are deciding where to go for dinner. Cool customer. Fight On!
2005 had so many memorable games. I remember playing golf with my dad this Saturday and catching the end of the Bama Ole Miss game in the clubhouse then getting home and watching this game.
I absolutely, could NOT believe, that Notre Dame, let that Win, get away.
Catholics chanting bullshit at the end 3:14:32 Rich...
Classic game I remember watching this game in 2005 when I was 13 years old at the time
Congrats Reggie on getting your HEISMAN back‼🏈🎉✌🏽🦾
In honer of reggie getting his heisman back today
This came up on my feed and you can still feel the electricity emanating from a game long ago. A all-time classic waking up the echos of greatness! Fight On! Troy.
Just imagine how long it would have taken instant replay to get the clock right and also what a Classic Game
Leinart to Jarret on 4th and 8 was the most clutch college football play I've ever seen. I remember jumping up and down after that catch. I just knew USC would score a TD after that!
Tom Hammond claimed this may have been the game of the year. It wasn't even the best game up to that point. #2 Texas at #4 Ohio State trumps #1 vs. #9.
The amount of adrenalin he must have felt at 3:09:10. When he sees the corner shade zone, then fake audibles to see if the corner stays set. Oooof...... chills.
Domers whine about that play - but ND players literally shoved Brady Quinn forward **4** times for 1st downs in that game. This and Fresno State were among Reggie's greatest ever.
Most thrilling spectacle I've ever witnessed.
Fumbled the ball backwards out of bounds near the 2-3 yard line. Meanwhile, ref sets USC up on the 1 yard line. What the hell is that?
The classic "Bush Push" to win the game.
Vince young played well at great
One of the best game I watched back then, both teams didn't disappoint. ND defense slowed USC down when most thought that loaded offense was going to be too much for ND defense
I know we’re all here after another heartbreaker
Still can’t believe they didn’t stop the clock when Leinart was tackled and the ball was very obviously knocked out of bounds. Smh that guy (the time keeper) caused a lot of unnecessary chaos.
The only game where my team lost, not only lost but in heart breaking fashion, that I continue to come back and rewatch.
It pretty much happened against Ohio State 2023. Giving up score basically last play of the game.
THE 2nd best game from THE greatest college football season of all time USC v Texas was the BEST game of that season.
Will this year's game be just as if not bigger?
The Zbikowski return gotta be one of the biggest crowd pops in sports history.
On the 4th down play with Jarrett running free they should have let him score at that point. ND had 1:20 left and 3 timeouts USC’s defense was hot garbage In 05. Texas exploited that even more in the Natty.
Something about early-mid 2000s college football hit different on Saturdays
Despite the BCS, I miss this era of college football. The game has changed now, and not for the better.
1:04:30 ouch 🤕
Bush push
It blows my mind that USC didn’t even consider the field goal.
Matt Lienart became a fullback. Lol please. Never did they even acknowledge the obvious shove from Bush. Without that shove USC prob loses.
😂😂😂 Notre Dame one of the best that year. Lol
Yeah he just spun around and broke the plane of the end zone. 😂😂😂😂😂
1:01:36
Our pants are now closer to the ugly USC yellowish gold than Notre Dame gold. I wish we would go back to that look. Our pants are way off from our helmets.
I absolutely enjoyed the USC Notre Dame football game in 2005! What a heck of a game this was! Also, the green jerseys from Notre Dame was a neat throwback!
wasn't this the BUSH GAME? featuring new and creative ways for the refs to screw notre dame! if i'm not mistaken, usc fumbles ball out of bounds somewhere near nd's 20 yet is placed inside the 10 with TIME PUT BACK ON THE CLOCK????? quite miraculous wouldn't we say?
LOL. Your description is way off. First off, in the NCAA College Football Rule Book at Rule 3, Section 3, Article 2, subsection e, line 3, that basically when the ball goes out of bounds, the play is ruled dead and the clock stops. The clock then starts again at the next QB snap. Relative to the play you're describing, the ball went out of bounds with 10 seconds left, however, the clock was only reloaded with 7 seconds. Therefore, USC actually was shorted 3 seconds due to the refs. Relative to the ball going out of bounds, the refs were correct as it went out of bounds at the one-yard line and was replaced at the one-yard line. Your description is way off. You must be thinking of another game. Regardless, the USC Trojans, the most successful college football program in history proved in this game why they are best college football program ever and always will be.
@@IOI769 pure cerebral diarrhea
Man 2005 college football season was special
I was there!
best usc vs dame game period.
3:09:16 has to be one of the greatest passes and receptions in football history! A 4th down do or die situation, just incredible!! For Leinart to put that ball exactly where it needed to be, Jarrett making the catch in stride with the DB right on his back who could’ve easily batted it down, absolutely amazing!!
If I was Norte Dame there I let them score. USC’s defense was trash In 05 plus they had 3 timeouts and over a minute to go.
This pass is ingrained in my memory from 18 years ago
@@TJ89741 Finally, I feel like I'm the only one saying that. Especially since USC's defense was terrible that year.
Yes, and what is amazing as well is that on that 4th down, Leinart called an audible in that roaring stadium to set up that play to Jarrett when he noticed the one-on-one coverage on Jarrett who stood about one foot taller than the DB that was covering him. Leinart's pass landed right on the numbers...amazing.
@@TJ89741 Totally agree and was thinking Coach Peter Carroll was ecstatic for that ND tackle in the red zone.
Right at the end, NBC Sports threw it over to NASCAR's 2005 UAW GM Quality 500. This is an infamous race among NASCAR fans because of Goodyear tire failures that night, rivaling the 2008 Brickyard 400. Crazy that NBC broadcasted two famous sporting events back to back.
Yep! Lol
If ND pulled this out Charlie Weiss could still be coaching there to this day. This result changed so many things for ND.
It changed nothing. Weis didn’t know how to build a coaching staff, his strength and conditioning program was piss poor and his defenses were always bad. The only thing he did well was recruit, specifically in the offensive side of the ball.
The 2007-2009 seasons costed him.
This is a classic
Texas v. Texas Tech (2008) and this game are my favorites of all time.
🔥
This game and how it ended to me shows NO DOUBT about WHO started the Reggie Bush investigation. Was Reggie guilty? Yes. However, that didn't.change the outcome of this game as it wasn't performance-related. Reggie broke the (now archaic) rule of taking money TO HELP OUT HIS FAMILY. Sure, that WAS a violation of the collegiate athlete rules. But Notre Dame lost this game, or, better yet, depending on perspective, USC WON this game because they were better talented than was ND. SO THAT SHIT is just SHIT. Did Reggie push? Yeah, he DID. Again, SO? Are you SERIOUSLY TELLING ME THAT IF ND DID THE SAME THING, THEY TOO WOULDN'T BE WRITING HERE WHAT I'M WRITING HERE? Those were two great teams, but one was WAY OVERRATED and were lucky to be IN that game on that day. I'm thinking of the 2004 National Championship game here... ND would have suffered the SAME FATE that OU suffered that New Year's day. Fuck the "Bush Push".... AS ND fans would have ALSO ignored it if it helped THEM to victory. Great game and finale, though. 🤣🤣🤣
Great game but the ball was spotted in the wrong place. The ball did not go out of bounds inside the one yard line. If it was spotted right ; USC probably kicks a field goal and the game goes into OT.... Yes or No !!!
Where should the ball have been spotted?
